During days from 21 to 25 November 2022, students of the Grammar school Hlinská, involved in the Erasmus+ Digital Competence and eSafety project, took part in a project meeting in Slovakia. The program held at our school focused on hate speech on the Internet, fake news but also on internet safety in connection with online scams and misleading advertisements. Students were involved in a number of interactive and educational activities, presentations and workshops.
Pupils from partner foreign schools had the opportunity to visit one of the most famous locations in Slovakia – the High Tatras and taste typical Slovak dishes in a restaurant at Štrbské Pleso. Lecturers at the University of Žilina prepared various interesting and entertaining activities for the students with the theme of critical thinking. The program continued outside of class, where foreign students could spend time getting to know Slovak culture.
Although a week is not a long time, the Erasmus+ project enabled the creation of many new friendships, improvement of teamwork, communication in a foreign language and improvement of the competences in the digital sphere.
