Between 19th and 25th March 2023 we took part in ERASMUS+ week and travelled to a beautiful Swedish town Piteå. This project was focused on the subject of Digital Competence and e-Safety and included a lot of activities. The main topics were social networks and mental health, about which we heard in a lot of interesting lectures and workshops. Besides working in the Photosop we tried out what it is like to be in front of cameras live during making Talkshow, which was our objective of the week. We tried the local cuisine and found out about the teaching process at their school. We experienced at first hand the power of freezing Swedish weather during such outdoor activities as survival training, when we jumped in a frozen lake, sledging or riding snowmobiles. Besides improving the communication in a foreign language and receiving new information this project has made a lot of new friendships, and life-long experiences.

Participants’ feelings
“An unforgettable experience, I’ve improved my communication in English, learned a few words in Swedish, too, met great people and also experienced a little cultural shock. I’ve learned how people in this country live, my host “dedicated” me to all of their traditions and customs, showed me some Swedish titbits (I haven’t eaten so much sweet in my life) and introduced me to her friends. We have as well seen the beautiful northern lights. I have gained lots of knowledge about social networks and mental health, too, learned how to work in Photoshop, seen the backstage of Talkshow making. Of course, there can always be some drawbacks, but I definitely appraise this week positively. East, west, home is best”. EMA
“Erasmus in Sweden is unforgettable for me. I had always wanted to see the northern lights and we were incredibly lucky to see them four times! I also liked the activities, for instance snowmobile ride, bowling, school concerts, or relaxing in aquapark. But if someone is going there, be ready for sweets that are sweet too much and rather salty meals. However, I’m absolutely satisfied, I stayed with very nice hosts, who looked after me and liked Sweden very much. And we as well had a lot of fun while working with cameras and video shots.” ERIKA
“This week has been one of the best in my life. We met a lot of great people, who I’ll never forget. We were lucky to see the northern lights, even several times. The best experience for me is jumping in a frozen lake and snowmobile ride. Such experience will be rooted in my memory forever. I grew fond of my host family very much, too, they were incredibly understanding and nice to me. It felt almost like home. We suffered from a little cultural shock when learning about a few traditions. Of course, besides having fun I’ve learned a lot. I know how to use a camera, and I’ve learned to edit photos in Photoshop. I have also gained some new knowledge in lectures we attended. I liked Sweden very much. I might perhaps consider moving to that country.” NIKA
“I’m glad to have got involved in this project. It’s one of the best experiences in my life. It has taught me to be self-reliant, communicate and orientate myself in an unknown town. And at the same time my great friends and teachers were with me. The programme included vast number of traditional Swedish activities, which you can’t try out so easily, just somewhere. ;) I’ve got goosebumps even now, imagining cold baths in the lake. I’m thankful for having been given such a chance, though, and I’d definitely used it again.” KARIN
